State Diamond Trader Participates in the 2026 Africa Mining Indaba

Venue: Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), Cape Town
Theme: “Stronger Together: Progress Through Partnerships”
The State Diamond Trader (SDT) will participate in the Investing in African Mining
Indaba 2026, where it will engage with key stakeholders to advance South Africa’s
diamond beneficiation agenda and strengthen strategic partnerships across the
mining value chain.
The entity is participating in partnership with the Department of Mineral and Petroleum
Resources (DMPR) and other entities within the Department, reinforcing a
coordinated government approach to promoting sustainable mining, beneficiation,
and investment opportunities.
As part of its exhibition and market-access initiatives, the State Diamond Trader has
partnered with Chiedza Jewellery Creations and Nolo M Jewellery Designs to
showcase and sell locally beneficiated diamond jewellery, highlighting South African
design excellence and supporting emerging jewellery enterprises.
SDT Chief Executive Officer, Ms Nosiphiwo Mzamo, will speak on 11 February 2026
during the Commodity Focus: Diamonds session, where she will outline beneficiation
opportunities, collaboration, and the role of the State Diamond Trader in positioning
South Africa as a hub for diamond trading and value addition.

The State Diamond Trader is a state-owned entity established in terms of Section 14 of the Diamonds
Amendment Act, 29 of 2005. The company is classified as a Schedule 3b entity of the Public Finance
Management Act (PFMA) and is eligible by law and proclamation to purchase up to 10% of the run of
mine from all diamond producers in South Africa.
