STATE DIAMOND TRADER GETS ACTING CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

The Minister of Minerals Resources and Energy, Mr. Gwede Mantashe, has seconded Mr. Kagiso Menoe, Director of Beneficiation Economics, to act as the Chief Executive
Officer for a period of three months.

The secondment of Mr. Menoe is with effect from Wednesday, 07 September 2022.

The Board of the State Diamond Trader expressed great appreciation for the speed with which the Honourable Minister and his official appointed an acting CEO, Following the resignation of Mr. Mandla Mnguni.

The State Diamond Trader is a state-owned entity established in terms of Section 14 of the Diamonds Amendment Act, 29 of 2005. The company is classified as a Schedule 3b entity of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), and is eligible by law and proclamation to purchase up to 10% of the run of mine from all diamond producers in South Africa.
